For the second year in a row both Calgary and Okotoks are taking part in the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale! Can I get a hell to the yeah!
This coming Saturday, April 23rd, me and some of my awesome buds will be setting up shop in front of Community Natural Foods south location between 10am and 3pm to sell a wide variety of amazing vegan treats!
Every cent that we collect will be going to R.A.S.T.A. Rescue and Sanctuary for Threatened Animals and WSPA’s Japan Disaster Relief Fund. Since disaster struck, WSPA has been working with the Animal Disaster Team (a coalition of animal organizations, including the Japanese Animal Welfare Society), the government and local experts to support the animals in the disaster zone of the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan to make sure that every animal gets the care they need.
We’ve got some fabulous people baking up all kinds of things, from sweet to savoury to gluten-free to soy-free and maybe even some sugar-free items thrown in the mix. As for me, I’m still trying to narrow down the huge list of things I’ll be making, I’m thinking that 35 items is just a tad bit overambitious, but expect to see some vegan sausage rolls, bacon cheddar scones and carrot cake on the menu. On top of all the great food, we’ll also be doing some raffles (yeah for free stuff!!), so if you stop by you can stuff your face AND enter for a chance to win Quick & Easy Vegan Bake Sale by Carla Kelly (at the Calgary location) or Meet the Coup Cooks by Tabitha Archer & Dalia Kohen (at the Okotoks location) and more!
If you’re interested in checking out our Okotoks sale, then stop by Celadonna Kitchen Essentials on April 30th between 10am and 3pm.
And since we love the earth just as much as we love all you wonderful people, don’t forget to bring a reusable bag or container to help cut down on waste.
Hope to see you there!
